Digital Archiving

The Academic Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (AJECE) is committed to maintaining the accessibility, integrity, and availability of its published scholarly content.

The journal publishes and manages its articles through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. AJECE maintains digital backup procedures intended to protect published articles, associated metadata, and journal records against accidental data loss, technical failures, and system disruptions.

AJECE also assigns Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to its published articles through Crossref. These identifiers facilitate persistent identification, reliable citation, and access to publication metadata.

The journal recognizes that metadata harvesting and DOI registration support scholarly discoverability but do not, by themselves, constitute independent long-term digital preservation.

Backup and Data Recovery

AJECE maintains backup procedures intended to minimize the risk of data loss and support the recovery of journal content and system information in the event of technical failures or service disruptions.

Onsite Backup: According to the journal's established backup policy, full server backups are performed daily and retained for seven days. These backups are intended to support recovery from accidental data loss, corruption, or system failures.

Remote Backup: The journal's backup arrangements include hosting infrastructure associated with Hetzner and OVH servers, together with backup procedures for the OJS database and hosting control panel (cPanel).

These backup arrangements support operational continuity and disaster recovery. The journal periodically reviews its backup procedures to maintain the accessibility and integrity of its published content.
